Mrs. Catherine Altenbach, 78, formerly of 127 W. Vine St., died at 6 a.m. today in Roselawn Convalescent Home, Spencerville, after a long illness.
She was born in Columbus Grove and was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph, in 1944, and Albert, in 1945. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Ladies Catholic Benevolent Assn.
Surviving are two brothers, Thomas Downey, 639 S. Elizabeth St., and John J., Deshler, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The body will remain in the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, 879 W. Market St., pending completion of arrangements.
