Enlisted on 8/24/1861, he was mustered into Company I, 24th Georgia Infantry, as 2nd Sergeant.
Promoted to Jr. 2nd Lieut 10/1/1862.
Promoted to 2nd Lieut 3/25/1864.
Killed In Action in the Battle of The Wilderness, VA.

The 24th Infantry Regiment, organized during the summer of 1861, recruited its members in White, Banks, Towns, Rabun, Gwinnett, Elbert, and Hall counties.
