Wife of James D. McKay, and after his death, she married Loami R. Gallaher. The two men were friends and Loami failed the militia physical because he had fallen off a horse, onto his knees and was badly injured when a teenager. Jim went to war, but asked Loami to promise to "take care of Maggie and the kids" while he was gone. After his death in Tennessee, Loami married Margaret Mart McKay and the couple had 7 children:
