Carnesville, Ga. Lemuel Ward, 90, died at noon Thursday at his residence in Banks County near Carnesville following an illness of about 4 weeks.
He was a son of the late Jerry and Lucille Whitfield Ward, and was born Oct. 28, 1871 in Banks County. His wife, Mrs. Nettie Payne Ward, died in November 1946.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Buddy Pritchett, of Thomasville, N. C.., Mrs. T. L. Payne, Mrs. Eldon Kesler, Mrs. A. B. Wiley, and Mrs. Tom Cash, all of Carnesville; five sons, Dayton Ward, of Carnesville, the Rev. W. D. Ward, of Toccoa, J. D. Ward, of Baldwin, Thomas and Ralph Ward, of Thomasville, N. C.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Nail's Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. J. E. Cornett and the Rev. S. A. Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at the residence of Mrs. A. B. Wiley and will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, half an hour before the services. The Ginn Funeral Home is in charge.
