George P. Diller, 80, a resident of Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and formerly of Cavalry Road, Carlisle, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 12, 1923, in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Parker and Sarah Souder Diller.
Mr. Diller was a graduate of Carlisle High School and attended Lehigh Valley College and Johns Hopkins University, where he studied engineering with the U.S. Army. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a POW in Germany for which he received the POW medal. He was retired from AMP Inc., where he was the production control manager.
He was a member of Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church.
He was president of the Local Industrial Management Club and vice president of National Industrial Management Club. He coordinated volunteers to help senior citizens with their income tax.
Mr. Diller is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maurita Boyd Diller; two daughters, Judy Kronheim of Carlisle and Cynthia Van Cleave of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; a son, Kenneth George Diller of Carlisle; two sisters, Minnie Alexander of Carlisle and Dorothy Ludlam of Arizona; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Alan Robinson and Rev. Bob Smith officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
