Janet Yvonne "JJ" Jones, 43, of Athens, GA, died at 11:28 PM Thursday, Nov. 4, 1993, in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, following an illness of 2 1/2 years. She was born Sept. 4, 1950, in Lafayette, and had lived in Athens the past 14 years.

Miss Jones graduated from Southwestern High School in 1968 and received degrees in political science and horticulture from Purdue University. She had been an assistant manager of a Kmart store in Athens the past eight years. She also was involved in volunteering. She was a member of the Classic City Community Church in Athens.

Surviving are her mother, Edith Crandall; a sister, Deborah (Mrs. Raymond) Daniels; a brother, David Jones, all of Lafayette; four nieces and three nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Randall Jones in 1991; and her father, Noble Jones in 1979. Service Nov. 8 at Hippensteel Chapel, Pastor Jim Chase officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
