Mary Blanche (Spicher) Barrett died January 29, 1962 after an extended illness. She was born in Brackenridge, a daughter of William and Priscilla (Butler) Spicher. She was the widow of David J. Barrett, whom she married March 25, 1901 in Tarentum. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in March 1951. She was an accomplished pianist and collected salt and pepper shakers and was into scrap booking.
She was an accomplished pianist .

She had a great sense of humor and was happiest when her family was near. Her husband preceded her in death in 1956. She is survived by the following children, Clarence (Olive) Barrett, Leonard (Jerry) Barrett and Kenneth (Betty) Barrett all of Templeton; Thomas (Catherine) Barrett, Templeton RD1; Lee (Melina) Barrett, Kittanning; and David (Katherine) Hyattsville, MD; daughters, Mrs. Evelyn (Emerson) Brewer, Schenley; Mrs. Kathadine (Roland) Brewer, Leechburg, Mrs. Idell (Ray) Bigley, Springdale, Mrs. Yvonne (George) Butler, Templeton, and Mrs. Vivian (Wesley) Ulmer, Lancaster, PA. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was the last survivng member of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband; David J. Barrett who died in 1956, sons, William L., infant sons, , Wallace, Robert and a unamed infant Barrett; a daughter, Mona Barrett; three grandchildren, Shirley J. Butler, and Evelyn and Elvila Barrett; her parents; sister Mrs. Lillian Calpass; and brothers, William Jr. and Addison J. Spicher. Friends will be recived at the Bauer Funeral Home and services will be conducted there. Burial will be in Cochran Cemetery.
