Mrs. Ada Bell Murphy, 62, mother of 12 surviving children, died at 2:20 this morning at the county hospital. She had been seriously ill the last two weeks. Her home was at 508 East Seveth street.
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Monday afternoon at the L.A. Jones Funeral home. Burial will be at Woodlawn cemetery.
Born at Stockton, Kansas, Feb. 20, 1886, Mrs. Murphy was daughter of Philip Samuel and Lucy Ellen (Edwards) Musgrove. The earlier part of her life was spent at Rose Hill, Iowa, and she was married at Webster, Iowa, August 26, 1900 to Addison Perry Murphy, who died Feb. 9, 1916.
Mrs. Murphy had lived in Washington for the last 24 years. She was a member of the Women's Relief Corps.
Surviving her are the following children; Edward C. Murphy of Rock, Island, IL, Mrs. Grace McCartney of Moline, IL, Harry C. Murphy of Milan, Il, Floyd A. Murphy of Washington, Perry E. Murphy of Washington, David E. Murphy of Washington, Fay Murphy of Wenatchee, Wash, Mrs. Eva Misel of Musatine, Glenn R. Murphy of Brighton, William K. Murphy of Washington, Addison J. Murphy of Washington, Lois J. Murphy of Wenatchee, Washington. Bertha B. Murphy is deceased. There are 22 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Brothers and sisters surviving are Willis C. Musgrove of Ottumwa, James V. Musgrove of Nebraska, Mrs. Ida Adkins of New Sharon, Mrs. Adda L. Conner of Ottumwa, Roy Musgrove of Waterloo, Mrs. Grace McCombe of Waterloo.
