Mrs. Bessie L. (Bowen)Prophet, 73, formerly of 1026 N. 8th St., died Tuesday in Wabash County Hospital at Wabash where she was a patient two weeks.
She lived in Lafayette from 1947 to 1965, when she went to live with a son, Donald M., on Rt. 4, Wabash. She had been in failing health three years.
She was born near Cutler and also lived several years in the Logansport area. She was married there in 1928 to William M. Prophet, who was employed here by Oscar Winski Co., Inc. He died in 1960 She was a member of the Church of the Brethern here.
Also surviving are four other sons, Glen Prophet of Michigan City, Wayne Prophet of Pendleton, James Farmer of Drain, Ore., and Virgil Farmer in Iowa; three daughters, Mrs. Douglas Crossler of Ritzville, Wash., Mrs. Edwin Dubuque of Monticello and Mrs. Luther Brown of Mesa, Ariz. and a brother, Edward Bowen of Rt. 2 Monticello. The body will be sent to Lafayette.
