Harry Ewing, 74, of Sheldon, a Democratic precinct committeeman for 25 years, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday in Iroquois Hospital, Watseka, where he was a patient for three weeks.

He was born July 14, 1888 in Vernon, Ind., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Morgan J. Ewing, and came to Sheldon in 1905, residing there since. On Sept. 16, 1911, he was married in Sheldon to Margaret Ann Clark, who died in 1936.

Mr. Ewing was retired from employment in the grocery business and was a member of the Sheldon Church of Christ.

Surviving are a son, Clark of Sheldon; one grandson, and sisters Mrs. Ariadne Putt Foreman and Mrs. Margaret Ormiston, both of Foresman, Ind. A brother also preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at the Sheldon Funeral Home on Thursday, by the Rev. Richard Wilson. Burial was in the Sheldon Cemetery.
