He married Dorothy Birkner in about 1835 in Germany. They brought their family to the United States in 1847, settling down as farmers in Wisconsin.
Friedrich and Dorothy had at least two children:
1. Frederick W. Krakofsky (1836-1908), married Lousia Eliza Boss, they had four children.
2. Charles Krakofsky (1838-1905), married Almira Emily Boss, they had four children.
Both of these sons were Civil War veterans... serving with honor for the state of Wisconsin.
The record of Friedrich's death has not yet been found, but the Burlington Historical Society notes that his last living record found to date is in the 1880 census of Waterford at age 72, living with son, Charles, and his family. (Page 19, dwelling 178, Fredrich Krokofsky). He is listed as widowed, born in Prussia, and with his parents having been born in Prussia. His occupation at this age of 72 was listed as "laborer". (Maybe too proud to be retired!)
