Obit for Malcolm Carter
Funeral services for Malcolm E. Carer, 84, of Granville were conducted Tuesday, April 11, at 2:00 p.m. in the Granville United Methodist Church with Bro. Comer McGuire officiating. Interment was in the Granville Cemetery. Mr. Carter passed away Saturday night, April 8, 1995, in the Jackson County Hospital. He was a retired farmer. Born February 3, 1911 in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Lee Roy and Fannie Roberts Carter and was a member of the Granville United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Baxter Seminary. In addition to his parents, he was also preceeded in death by three brothers, Farmer, Mack and J.N. Carter and one sister, Emma Carter. Survivors include a brother, Alton Carter of Granville; two sisters, Marie Pharris and Vyda Anderson, both of Granville; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Bill Wooten, Robert Dudney, Stitles Ray Carter, Warren Lee Gilley, David Canfield, Bruce Lee Carter, Tracy Carter, Warren Gilly and Gary Dale Carter. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Clyde Eller, Robert Harris, Ed (Junior) Halfacre, Bobby Carter, Billy Gregory, Alan Grimes, Brian Canfield, Scott Canfield, Chris Carter and Clyde Webster. Memorial donations may be made to the Granville United Methodist Church by contacting Anderson Funeral Home, which was in charge of the arrangements.
