Lloyd Edmund Odermann was born on April 2, 1930 in Elbow Woods, North Dakota, the son of Henry Claude "Hank" Odermann (1899–1975) and Regina Elizabeth (Landwehr) Odermann (1904–1982).

Raised farming and ranching, he graduated from Elbow Woods High School and was married on June 16, 1952 in Halliday, North Dakota to Katherine Lesmeister.

He worked the oil fields on North Slope of Alaska, was a Salt Creek Freight dock hand and truck driver. He was also involved in church activities and was a long time member of Knights of Columbus, a Eucharistic Minister to home bound people and sang in the church choir. And, when living in North Dakota, he was a Scoutmaster.

Lloyd's hobbies and interests included hunting, fishing, camping and backpacking with family. He was an ardent follower of Billings Central High School sports, and he loved horses and farm life. He enjoyed following his grandchildren's growth, activities and achievements, loved to sing, spend time with family and visit with all. He also enjoyed his daily pinochle games and sharing his indomitable spirit with all around him. When asked how he was doing, he always responded, "It's all good!"

He was 82 when he passed away on December 27, 2012 at Saint Johns Lutheran Ministries in Billings, Montana.

Preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Odermann, sister Doris Stevenson and by his daughter Elaine Brooke, he was survived by five daughters, four sons, eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four sisters and a brother.

Vigil Services were held on January 4th at Dahl Funeral Chapel, and Memorial Mass was at Saint Pius X Catholic Church with interment of ashes in Calvary Cemetery, Billings.
