James Daniel Rorabaugh was born October 31, 1871, in Scotland County, Missouri, near Memphis, and departed this life at his home near Crawford on January 5, 1956.
He moved with his parents to Neosha, Missouri in 1884 where he resided until manhood. At the age of 24 years he was married to Martha Amanda Roberts on December 24, 1895. To this union 3 boys and 4 girls were born.
They Moved to Oklahoma in 1900 and spent one year near Thomas. In 1901 they came to Old Day County near Crawford, and homesteaded where he resided until his death. His wife and two sons preceded him in death.
He was united with the Church of Christ in the summer of 1935 and has been a devout Christian since that time.
On May 24, 1946, he was married to Minnie Shaw of Neosho, Missouri.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of the home address, four daughters, Mrs. Mae Dickason, Crawford, Mrs. Ray Edgington, Socorro, New Mexico, Mrs. Bonnie Malson, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Rula Anderson, Cheyenne; and one son, Lloyd Rorabaugh of Socorro. Also five grandchildren and one great grandchild, two brothers, Joe of Lancaster, California and Arthur of Artesia, California; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Roberts of Nicoma California, Mrs. Almeta Penner, Long Beach, California, and Mrs. Belle Martin, Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and other relatives and a host of friends. All were present for the funeral except Mary Roberts.
Funeral services were conducted by T.E. King, Higgins, Texas at the Crawford gym, under the direction of Scroggins Funeral Home. Interment was in the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Oklahoma.
