John E. Rorabough, the son of Mr. and Mrs. N.H. Rorabough, was born January 31, 1886, near Neosho, Newton County, Missouri and died June 6, 1906, at the age of 20 years.
John with his parents moved to a place near Thomas, Oklahoma and lived there one year. Then his parents came five years ago and settled a claim near Crawford, Oklahoma.
John was afflicted like some of his neighbors have been, the doctors not knowing what the disease is. Although John suffered terribly during his sickness, he never complained, and when the time came for him to pass from this world of sin and sorrow, he said he was prepared to go. He was a kind and obedient son and counted his friends by the score. John was a hardworking, industrious boy. He had rented his father's place this spring and had a large crop out.
He leaves a father, mother, five brothers and three sisters to mourn his loss. The funeral was held Thursday, June 7, at the home of his parents, 2 miles south and 1½ miles east of Crawford, conducted by C.E. Herrin. The remains were laid to rest in the Thomas Cemetery. God's will, not ours, be done.
