Reva Miller Quilter Rasmussen
1927 - 2012

Reva Miller Quilter Rasmussen, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend, passed away on January 24, 2012, in the American Fork Hospital at the age of 84.

She was born May 12, 1927, in Tropic, Utah. She was the daughter of Allen S. Miller and Elizabeth Pollock.

She married her high school sweetheart, Alvin Powell Quilter, on December 26, 1944. Their marriage was solemnized in the Saint George Temple, January 18, 1947. They made their home in Tropic, Utah.

She married Mark Harris Rasmussen, July 6, 1960, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived for many years in Orem, Utah, before moving to BelAire Assisted Living, in American Fork, Utah.

Reva had a beautiful soprano voice she shared often. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as chorister in several auxiliaries, counselor in the MIA presidency, and was faithful in searching for life histories for her ancestors.

Reva loved and excelled at knitting and crocheting, and was a square dancer. She later became a true "rock-hound", learning to cut, facet, silversmith, and create beautiful opal jewelry, winning many awards for her work. She also designed hundreds of semi-precious gem trees that she sold and gave for gifts.

She belonged to the Timpanogos Rock Club for many years, and traveled around the country displaying her work with her husband Mark. Together, they belonged to square dance clubs.

She is survived by large blended family including: six sons and four daughters. They are: Sherrie (Larry) Williams, Ross A (Joan) Quilter, Kerri (Eric) Hundley, Ray M. Rasmussen, Sondra (LaMar) Mills, Shirlene (Ted) Hindmarsh, Don A. Rasmussen, Edward H. (Diane) Rasmussen, Kent G. Rasmussen, and Dale M. Rasmussen; 46 grandchildren, 96 great-grandchildren, and 11 gg-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 15 brothers and sisters; her husbands, Alvin and Mark; son, Tony M. Quilter; and a grandson, Sean Quilter.

There will be a viewing at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 So. State Street, Orem, Utah, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral to follow at 11:00, on Saturday, January 28, 2012. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery.

The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff at BelAire, especially "her girls", for the love, care, and concern they extended to our mother. Sarah, we can never repay you. We appreciate the staff at the American Fork ER and Medical Floor, for the superb nursing and gentleness they expended in her behalf.
