SAMUEL MILLER DEAD
Retired Farmer Succumbs To Illness Of A Year
Had Lived In This County More Than Half a Century - Was a Retired Farmer and a Man of Probity and Worth - Survived by Seven Children - The Funeral Tuesday
Samuel Miller, seventy-three, a retired farmer living at 1121 West Jefferson street, died at 7 o'clock Saturday evening. Death resulted from paralysis, and came after an illness of about a year. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from Shiloh Church. The Rev S F Wilson will preach. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
Mr Miller had lived in this county for more than half a century, and his acquaintance here was wide. He was one of Howard County's good citizens. He purchased and cleared a farm west of the city, and all of his life labored patiently to win from the fertile earth a livelihood. He reared a large family into useful men and women, and all of his days he lived in industry and probity and honor. There will be regret at the passing of a man so universally esteemed, but his brief life story will remain as an exemplar for those who would seek to rise by sobriety and industry.
Mr Miller's wife died thirteen years ago. Surviving children are Mrs John McClintock, Mrs Horace Malcote, Albert Miller, Mrs Sherman Steward, Oral Miller, Mrs Roy Creason, and Roy Miller.
