Ralph Cleveringa Dies At Orange City
Death came suddenly to Ralph leveringa, 72, Wednesday, Sept. 20, after suffering a heart attack.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home and at the Second Reformed Church of O.C. with Rev. J. Masselink officiating. Intement was made in the O.City Cemetery with the Van Etten Funeral Sevice in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cleveringa was born on Dec. 9, 1877 near Orange City, and was reared in this vicinity. He was married on Jan. 28, 1902 to Mary Noteboom of Orange City. They were parents of 4 children, 2 of whom died in infancy.
A daughter, Bertha died at the age of 17, about 20 years ago . The widow and one daughter, Hester (Mrs. Simon Vande Garde) of Orange City, survive as also two brothers; Gerben Cleveringa of Sheldon and Nick Cleveringa of Newkirk. Also three sisters; Mrs. Ralph Bloemendaal of Orange City; Mrs. Henry Roghair of Oakaton, South Dakota and Mrs. Gerrit Boon of Ritten, South Dakota.
There is one grandchild, Marilyn Vande Garde.
