"Mary Elizabeth Six, oldest daughter of James and Lucind a Six was born in Brown County, Ill., February 1, 1848, die d at her home near Perry, Pike County, April 3rd, 1911, ag e 63 years, 2 months and 2 days.
She was married to George L. Stevenson January 18, 1866 . 6 children were born to this union, one son and daughter and also her husband having gone on before.
She united with the M.E. church many years ago, and lived each and every day a truly devoted follower of Christ, striving always to lead others to the blessed Master. She found her greatest pleasure in ministering to the comfort and happiness of her husband and children and everyone who wa s privileged to partake of the hospitality of this home always remembered the kind word and gentle smile of this good woman.
She grieved for the loss of her loved ones but never as one without faith and hope in the future. Since the death of her beloved companion her health has been slowly declining and with a faith beautiful and unwavering she patiently awaited the final summons and when the death angel came with a whispered prayer, the noble spirit winged its flight to the God who gave it.
Four children: Mrs. Oliver Baker, William, Ross and John are left to mourn her departure.
The funeral services were held at the home Wednesday, April 5, 1911. The Rev. Mark White officiating. The interment was at the Seaborn cemetery."
