Elmer Lester Wilson, 72, of 5825 East Thirteenth, died at the Santa Fe hospital in Topeka. He worked 50 years for the Santa Fe railway, and when he retired in 1961, he was chief clerk to the superintendent in Kansas City. Mr. Wilson was born in Valley Falls, Kas., and had lived here since 1912. He was a member of the First Baptist church and the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Naomi Wilson of the home; a daughter, Mrs. LaVerne Maddix, Flint, Mich.; a son, Clyde Gan Wilson, 9408 Cherokee Place, Leawood; three sisters, Mrs. May Bishop, Pittsburg, Kas.; Mrs. Alice Happle, Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Vera Cooper, Stockton, Calif.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be held at 10:30 o'clock Saturday at the Newcomer chapel, Brush Creek and the Paseo; burial in Maple Hill cemetery.
