Anna's father is Menko Dijkman, born in 1886 in the country village Bierum in the utter northeast of the Netherlands, in the province Groningen. On 27 March 1912 he arrived at the age of 25 years, single and alone, without relatives, on the SS Nieuw Amsterdam at New York. Last residence place: Bierum. On 20 November 1912 he married at Muskegon, Michigan, to the three years younger Antje Danhof. At the end of March 1913 Anna is born there and at the end of 1918 her sister Herdenkje (?!). In 1920 the family lived still at Muskegon, but in 1930 in the Dutch settlement Holland, Gallatin County, in the southwestern part of Montana, not faraway from Yellowstone National Park.

Anna Dykman Karp married on 14 August 1933 at Manhattan, Gallatin County, at the age of 20 years to the one year older Sam Karp, who was born in Michigan too, in Grand Rapids, and who had also Dutch parents.
In 1940 Ann lived with her husband Sam Karp, farmer, and their children Patricia A (6 y) and John M (4 y), both born in Gallatin County, at a rented farm at Hot Springs Township in Madison County, west of Gallatin County, where they lived in 1935 at a rural place. Sam's brother Jake Karp, also a farmer, lived there in 1940 too with his family.

In November 1996 her husband Sam Karp died in Bozeman, the seat of Gallatin County, Montana at the age of almost 84 years. Widow Anne died in August 2017 in Gallatin County too, at the age of 94 years.
