Elizabeth O. U’Ren, 95, Dodgeville, died Wednesday, November 3, 1993 in Medical Care Facility after a long illness. The former Elizabeth Thompson was born near Blanchardville August 15, 1898 to Ole and Helena (Anderson) Thompson. She was married to Herbert U’Ren on January 17, 1917 and the couple farmed near Blanchardville until moving to the Dodgeville area in 1940. She was a member of the Blanchardville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two daughters: Isabelle (Ansel) Moe and Priscilla U’Ren, both of Dodgeville; one son, Thomas U’Ren, Dodgeville; three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert U’Ren on December 10, 1946; her parents, Ole and Helena Thompson; five brothers, Melvin, Charles, Tyler, Olden and Edward; five sisters, Minnie, Nettie and Olive Thompson, Mabel Wahl and Nora Hanson; and one daughter-in-law, Genevieve U’Ren on September 4, 1992.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 6 in the Blanchardville Lutheran Church. Pastor Jeff Miller officiated with burial in Graceland Cemetery in Blanchardville. A visitation was held at the Lulloff-Peterson Funeral Home, Dodgeville, Friday, November 5 and at the church on Saturday until service time.
