Edward H. Thompson, 82, formerly of Blanchardville, died Thursday, July 7, 1983, in the New Glarus Home where he was a resident. Death followed an extended illness.

Born Aug. 15, 1900, in Green County, he was the son of Ole G. and Helena Anderson Thompson. He attended Blanchardville schools.

Mr. Thompson operated a dairy farm near Blanchardville with his brother and sister until retiring in 1967. He continued to reside at the farm home until entering the nursing home.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth U'Ren, Dodgeville, and Mrs. Nora Hanson, Cumberland, and nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 9, in the Blanchardville Lutheran Church of which he was a member. The Rev. Wayne Henderson officiated. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Blanchardville.

The Saether Funeral Home, Blanchardville, was in charge of arrangements.
