Funeral for Mr. Cook

Monmouth, Ill., May 2 - (Argus News Service) - Funeral services for John D. Cook, 54, a lifelong resident of Henderson county, will be at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Gladstone Methodist church. Burial will be in the Oquawka cemetery.

Mr. Cook died yesterday morning at the home of his son at 410 West Fourth avenue, Monmouth, where he had been residing three months.

Mr. Cook was born in Gladstone, Ill., April 16, 1885, the son of David and Emma Pence Cook. On Oct. 14, 1904, he married Miss Sarah Elizabeth Kinnison at Gladstone. She died Jan. 21, 1919. On May 27, 1920, he married Vivian Nettie Dye at Oquawka.

Surviving are the widow, four sons, Ernest and Clifford, both of Monmouth; George and David both of Gladstone; six sisters, Mrs. Civilla Huneke, Burlington, Iowa; Mrs. Clara Seward, Galesburg; Mrs. Ruby Johnson, New Boston; Mrs. Hester Galbreath, Iron Mountain, Mich.; Mrs. Stella Knutstrom, and Mrs. Veda Martin, both of Gladstone, and a brother, George Cook, Kirkwood. There are five grandchildren.

Mr. Cook spent many years farming near Gladstone and was a member of the Methodist church there. For two years he was a member of the school board.
