Lois (Cookman) Rariden, 68, 4915 Jaysue St., died Monday at St. John's Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Anderson. She retired in 1971 from Delco Remy following 28 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Sigma Chi Chapter of Sigma Beta Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirly Rariden, in 1969.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bud (Lynn) Kennard of Anderson and Sheryll Tanner of Greenfield; three brothers, Forrest Cookman of Anderson, Wayne Cookman of Phoenix, Ariz., and John Cookman and Fort Myers, Fla,; four grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
Services will be 2:30pm Thursday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home with Dr. Robert G. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm today at the funeral home, where Sigma Chi Chapter of Sigma Beta sorority will conduct a memorial service at 7pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
