Funeral services were held at Blue Rapids,
Kansas last Wednesday afternoon for James
N. Bentsen, 83, who passed away at the home
of his daughter, Mrs. Ethel Cerveny on
Sunday.
Reverend Neil Heidrick, pastor of the Meth-
odist Church officiated. Burial was in the
Frankfort Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas.
Born in Bornholm, Denmark on January 7,
1973, Mr. Bentsen has made the Blue Rapids
community his home for the past ten years,
coming from Frankfort. His last illness
confined him for two weeks.
He is the father of twelve children, Emery
Bentsen, California, Vernice Bentsen, of
Frankfort, Kansas, Alice Leupold, St. Joseph
Missouri, Esther Cunningham, Kansas City,
Mrs. Ethel Cerventy, John Bentsen and
Lawrence Bentsen all of Blue Rapids, Kansas
Ellen Bentsen, Redding, California, Mary
Ann, Weigle, Kansas City, Raymond Bentsen
Beatrice, Nebraska all of whom survive him.
preceding him in death are Helen and Fred.
Also surviving him are his brothers and sisters
Olof Bentsen, Canada; Pee Bentsen, Anna
Marie, Carl and Christen, all of Denmark;
23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
