Funeral services for John P. Koehler of Chilton, who died Friday morning, will be held at 9:30 .a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home in Chilton, followed by 10 a.m. rites at St Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Henry J. Schmitt pastor of St. Mary's Church will officiate and burial rites will be conducted at the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home in Chilton after 3 p.m. Monday. Holy Name Society rosaries are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the parish vigil at 8 p.m.

Mr. Koehler, 78, of 711 Maple St., Chilton, was pronounced dead on arrival at Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton at 11:35 a. m. Friday. Stricken with an apparent heart attack in a downtown business establishment, he had not been ill previously.

He was born Sept. 27, 1887, in Town of Charlestown, the son of the late Joseph and Mathilda Anders Koehler. His marriage to the former Magdalena Reiser took place Nov. 5, 1912, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in November of 1962. They farmed in the Town of Charlestown, retiring in 1945. The couple moved to Chilton in 1950. Mr. Koehler was a former officer and member of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service and was a member of the Town of Charlestown district school board for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chilton and of the Holy Name Society of that church. He also was affiliated with Catholic Knights of Wisconsin, Charlestown Branch 118.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Clarence, on the homestead in Town of Charlestown; one daughter, Mrs. John (Viola) Stadler of Freedom; one sister, Mrs. George Salm; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
