Martha was a talented and industrious woman being not only an accomplished and commercially successful seamstress, but also a creative and wonderful cook. When her brother, Rob, built his home at 329 Park Avenue in Beaver Dam, he included within it a room where Martha conducted her seamstress business, the room having direct access from the street via an external stairway to the second floor.

Carrie HARKINS, also buried in Oakwood Cemetery and find-a-grave numbered 9777887, was a daughter of Charles and Martha SCHIRMACHER.
