Kensel and community were greatly saddened when word was received here Sunday that Rolla Romelfanger had passed away in the Carrington hospital. Even thoughit was widely known that he was most critically ill, hopes were somewhat brightened as he determinely fought against death from day to day. However, the Grim Reaper was not to be denied, and with the family members at his bedside, passed quietly away 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon.

Rolla J Romelfanger was born on the present home farm, north of Kensel, on Sept 27, 1900, attaining the age of 33 years and eight months. The deceased spent his entire life in this communting, assisting and later farming with his father. Rolla was a quiet, reserve young man, never given to displaying a boisterous personality, a man of clean habits, deeply devoted to home life. Despite the fact that he never sought the public spotlight, he acquired a large circle of community friends.

Funeral services were conducted from St John's Church Wednesday morning with Father Al Zimmermann in charge of the services. Six close friends, Frank and Joseph Paczkowski Jr, Archie Nihill, John, Tom and James Clancy conveyed him to his last resting place in the St John's Cemetery.

Those left to mourn his passing are his parents and 12 sisters, Rose, Grayce, Blanche, Laura, Muriel, Clarise, at home; Mrs George Brewer (Burdella), Kensel; Mrs Gust Sabinash (Martha), Bordulac; Mrs H Ronngren, Windsor; Mrs S Bullock and Mrs E Marvin, both of Chicago. One other sister preceded him in death.

Other relatives in attendence were Frank Romelfanger and Mrs Ed Osborn of Aberdeen, SD.

The Times and community joins in extending heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing relative.
