BESSIE B. PARK
1904 - 2000

HIAWATHA, Kan. Bessie Bernice Park, 96, died Wednesday, Dec.19, 2000, at a Hiawatha health care center.

Mrs. Park, a homemaker, was born April 24, 1906[4], in Denton, Kan., where she graduated from high school.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Denton. Her husband, Samuel A. Park, died in 1981.

Mrs. Park was also preceded in death by her parents, Jad L. and Nellie Boatwright; two brothers, Pete and Don Boatwright; and a sister, Mildred Chaney.

Surviving: a son, Neil, Prairie Village, Kan.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha. Burial: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, north of Leona, Kan.

Visitation: one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Calling hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

According to Grandma Berneice's notes, she was born on Sunday, April 24, 1904 at 6:10 A. M. in Denton, Kansas and she married Grandpa Sam on Wednesday, May 18, 1927 at the Methodist Parsonage in Troy, Kansas.
