OBITUARY:
PARK- Samuel A. Park, 78, of the Maple Grove Apartments of Hiawatha, died late Saturday evening, April 11, 1981, at the Hiawatha Community Hospital where he had been readmitted April 6. He had been in failing health for some time.
Mr. Park was born February 25, 1903, in White Cloud, Kansas, the son of Edward and Samantha Hawkins Park.
He had farmed for many years in the White Cloud and Leona areas until 1946. He later worked as custodian and bus driver for the Leona schools until 1958, when he moved to Clovis N.M., where he lived until 1969. He had lived in Meade, Kans. for 2 1/2 years before moving to Hiawatha in 1972.
Mr. Park was a member of the United Methodist Church of Denton.
He was married to Bessie Boatwright, May 18, 1927, at Troy. She survives at the home. Other survivors include one son, William N. Park, Olathe, Kans.; one brother, George W. Park, St. Joseph, Mo.; and four grandchildren....
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben Park, Albert Park and Lavirus Park.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Tuesday morning, April 14, at the Casselman-Meek Funeral Home, with the Rev. Walter R. Brant officiating. Internment will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, north of Leona.

Grandpa & Grandma were married on Wednesday, May 18, 1927 at the Methodist Parsonage in Troy, Kansas.
Grandpa was in the National Guard and served in the Army during World War II along with his youngest brother, George Woodrow Park ("Uncle Woody" to me).
Later in life, Grandpa would repair bicycles, he didn't do it as a job, he never charged for his services, he did it because he loved it.
As he got older, Grandpa's favorite choice of apparel was his striped overalls.
