She was born October 8, 1918 at Bicknell, Utah to William Henry and Burl Atellia Mangum. The family moved to Woodville, Utah where she grew up and attended school. At the age of 14, she moved to Idaho Falls, where she spent the rest of her life.
In 1934, she married Richard Caughie. After 34 years of marriage, they were divorced.
On July 24, 1971, she married Donald Robert Jenkins in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on January 27, 1979.
She was a wife, mother, and homemaker and also worked at White Star Laundry, Western Potato, and R. F. French. She was an active member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions, including the Relief Society Presidency. She served a mission with her husband to Atlanta, Georgia and was a temple worker in the Idaho Falls Temple. She enjoyed fishing, crafts, quilting, gardening, and scouting.
