Janice Lea Beedie, 70, Oolitic, went to be with the Lord at 7:17 a.m. on Friday at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

She was born Aug. 25, 1940, in Oolitic, the daughter of Tip and Effie (Swafford) Mills. She married Clyde H. Beedie on Sept. 27, 1958, and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2008.

She was a 1958 graduate of Oolitic High School.

She was employed at General Electric in Bloomington for 27 years, retiring in 1997. She attended Springville Trinity Pentecost Mission and was an avid I.U. basketball fan.

She loved to cook for family and friends, loved the outdoors and swimming pool activity. She was a wonderful Mother, Granny, Great-Granny and Sister. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Frank, Willie, Garvin and twin brother, Jan Mills; and one sister, Helen Marie, in infancy.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford with the Rev. Wendell Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Bedford.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or Springville Trinity Pentecost Mission.
