OOLITIC – Jan D. Mills, 52,
316 Lafayette St., Oolitic, died at
1:54 p.m. Tuesday at Bloomington
hospital. He had been ill six
months.
Born in Oolitic, he was the son
of Tip and Effie (Swafford) Mills.
He married Christina Figley on
April 28, 1973, and she survives.
He worked as a sawyer at In-
diana Limestone Co., in Oolitic and
attended Grace Full Gospel
Church of Bedford.
Surviving with the wife are two
sons: Jan R. Mills and Jeffrey D.
Mills, both at home; one daughter,
Melinda Susan Mills, at home;
three brothers: Frank Mills of
Bedford, Willie Mills of Oolitic
and Garvin Mills of Chicago, IL.,
two sisters Janice Beedie of
Oolitic and Joy Brown of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by
parents and one sister, Helen
Mills,
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday
at Day and Carter Mortuary, Bed-
ford, with Revs. Reggie Turner
and Keith Thompson officiating.
Burial will be in Green Hill
Cemetery, Bedford.
Friends may call from noon
until 9 p.m. Thursday at the
Funeral home.
