Octaviana P. Acosta, 93, died Saturday evening in Fort Bayard. Mrs Acosta was born in Pinos Altos to Eban S and Maria Medina Porter. She had been a resident of Hurly for the past 62 years and a communicant of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church. Mrs. Acosta is survived by five daughters, Emilita Avilucea of Hurley, Octavia Kramer of Santa Anna CA, Gloria Tarezon of San Gabriel, CA, Clorinda Carillo of Bayard and Josephine Dominquez of Bayard. Three sons, Rufus Acosta of Hurley, Arnold Acosta of Grand Junction CO, and Edward P Acosta of Hurley; 19 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emilo N Acosta in 1947, and a son Alfonso Acosta in 1961. Rosary recetation will be held tonight and mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday. Both services will be held in the Infant Jesus Catholic Church. The Rev. Benito Suen will officiate. Internment will follow in the Silver City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons Richard Acosta, Daniel Acosta, Roldan Acosta, Arnold Acosta Javier Acosta, and Arthur Acosta. Honorary pallbearers will be her other grandsons, Rudy Acosta, Tony Domingquez, Micheal Acosta, Timothy Acosta, Jim Tarazon, and Rufus Acosta. Arrangements are by Wheeler.
