The third child and third daughter (of ten children) of Robert and Frances (Cooper) Schrank. The ten children were born between 1950 and 1969 (the 7th baby, Lawrence, died shortly after birth in 1958). Darlene was born a little less than a year after her sister Kathy.
In 1964 the Schrank family moved from Milwaukee to a farmhouse in New Berlin, Waukesha County.
Her father died 2 days after her 17th birthday in Dec. 1969.
Darlene graduated from New Berlin West High School in June 1971. And she graduated from UW-Stevens Point in May 1975 (Art major).

Darlene grew despondent and depressed in late 1985 after losing a job at Empire Level (November). Just before her 33rd birthday, she commited suicide (hanging) in the wooded area adjoining the land of her former New Berlin home. She was found Dec. 14th but her actual date of death was Dec. 12th (when she went missing).

Also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
