Elizabeth (Betty) Irene Anderson died November 7, 2010 at her home in Fortuna at age 93.

Born the sixth child of Ellis and Nannie Belle Ross on June 15, 1917 in Cambridge, Idaho, Elizabeth was a 1935 graduate of Fortuna High School and lifelong resident of Humboldt County. She Married Rollin Anderson of Ferndale on August 9, 1939 and continued to reside in their Fortuna home for over 73 years.

Elizabeth's passion, for the majority of her life, was her relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Both she and her husband were very much involved in the life of the Church in Humboldt County and she leaves many dear friends throughout the Christian community. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a wonderful friend to all that had the privilege of knowing her. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Carlotta Jo and James Malone of Vista; a son and his wife, Rollin Jr. and Cathy of Fortuna; five grandchildren, Michael Malone of Seattle, Jamie Roth and her husband, James, of San Diego, Betsy Glaudini and her husband, Steven, of Burbank, Stephanie Drill and her husband Marc, of Riverbank, and Jason Bietz and his wife, Kristen, of Atascadero; ten great-grandchildren, Brianna Strohschein of Vista; Christopher and Taylor Roth of San Diego; Tanner, Madison, Dawson and Payton Drill of Riverbank; Jase, Brooke and Ben Bietz of Atascadero. Of her seven siblings, Elizabeth has one remaining sister, Marion Dunaway of Springfield, Oregon, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Visiting Angels and in particular Kendra Andersen - long time friend, neighbor and surrogate family member for the love, support and care that allowed Elizabeth to remain in her home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary where friends may call from noon to 5 P.M., Friday, November 12. Friends are also invited to attend a graveside service was at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Sunrise Cemetery, Fortuna, to be immediately followed by a memorial service celebrating Elizabeth's life at Redwood Christian Fellowship, 750 13th Street, Fortuna.
