Second child of Samuel and Anna Harper Pepper. (Above date of birth taken from his brother Zedekiah's family Bible.) Born in the Pendleton District of South Carolina, he moved with his parents around 1813 to Lawrence County, MS where his father was a Justice of the Peace. Ezeriah married Rolda (sometimes Rhoda) Roberts in Lawrence County, MS May 11, 1827. Around 1840, Ezra moved his family to Union County, AR where he became a Justice of the Peace for Johnson Township. Around 1859, Ezra moved to the Jackson/Winn Parish area near the Walker community. He would live out the rest of his life here. He died sometime around 1889 and was buried in Transport Cemetery. Ezeriah and Rolda are the founders of the Pepper line in the Winn/Jackson Parish area.
