Mrs. Pearl Austin, 86, of Varna died at 9:24 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 1985 at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley, IL.
Born January 11, 1899, in Varna to Nels John and Jennie Holmstrom Peterson, she married Floyd Austin on March 15, 1921 in Varna. He died November 23, 1984. One son, one daughter, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Marion and Clark Austin, both of Varna, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, Mark Peterson of Toluca and Robert Peterson of Oglesby, and two sisters, Della Mae Lundgren and Mrs. Raymond (Beulah) Modro, both of Varna.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Rebecca Unit of the Lutheran Church Women.
Visitation was at 1 p.m. Tuesday in her church, followed by services there at 2 p.m. with Dr. James E. Walker officiating. Burial was in Varna First Lutheran Church Cemetery #2. Robert Pries Funeral Home of Lacon was in charge of arrangements.
