My great-grandfather and I shared March 22 as our birthday!! My dad has told me how happy and proud my great-grandpa George was to share his birthday with me. We didn't get to celebrate too many birthdays together but at least I have these two special photos of us together and knowing we had a special date together!

George Bogan
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wetmore Funeral Home for George Bogan, 79, of 701 Lafayette St., father of Charles R. Bogan, operator of Lembke Motor Inn, who died Saturday at Porter Memorial Hospital.
The Rev. Richard W. Howard, Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Porter Lodge 137 F and AM, of which he was a member, will conduct rites at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Friends may call at the funeral home until time of services.
Born March, 22, 1893 at Kirklin, he was a son of Spencer F. and Hattie B. (Dunn) Bogan. On Sept. 19, 1912 he married Gladys Bristow who preceded him in death in 1971.
Bogan was a maintenance engineer for Valparaiso University for 10 years.
Survivors include four sons, Charles R., and George K., both of Valparaiso, Frank O., South Bend, and James R., Hobart; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Sally) Affeld and Mrs. Merlin (Peggy Ann) Betz, both of Valparaiso; two brothers, Earl, Michigantown, and Omer, Lafayette; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter Agatha and 10 brothers and sisters.
