From 1938-40, he farmed with his father south of Tilden, Nebraska. He worked for Lockheed Aircraft in California from 1940-41.
He entered the United States Army Air Corp in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of a staff sergeant.
Ray was united in marriage to Margaret Cram on September 21, 1947, in Tilden, Nebraska.
They have made Grand Island, Nebraska their home since 1958.
Raymond worked for Super-Sweet Feeds 1958-70 and was a Turkey Grower from 1948-91.
