Yakima Herald Republic 11 May 1990: Walter A. Lane: Walter A. Lane, 101, of Yakima, died Thursday morning, May 10, 1990, in the Renaissance Care Center. Walter was born April 14, 1889 in Springfield, Mo. to Ped A. and Parthena Adeline (Whittaker) Lane. He was raised and educated in Oklahoma and served in the U.S. Army during WWI. He later married Williamae Sprouse in Clayton, NM on July 8, 1929. They lived in Oklahoma and New Mexico until moving to Yakima in 1933. Mr. Lane had been employed as a foreman for Del Monte before retiring in 1954. He was a member of the Christian Life Center and the Disable American Veterans. Survivors include his wife Willa Mae Lane of Yakima; four sons, Earl Lane of Union Gap, Max Lenaberg of Battle Mountain, Nev.. Albert Lane of Clinton, Oklah., and Herbert Lane of Antioch, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Jim (Wauneta) Bolton of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., Mrs. Merle (Ethel) Chesier of Yakima, Mrs. Eddie (Gladys) Floyd of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; and Mrs. Jim (Joyce) Beaushaw of Yakima; 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sons, Carl, Virgil, and Clarence Lane; by five grandchildren, eight brothers, Claude, Floyd, Louis, Charley, Jesse, Burley, Lester, and Clarence Edward Lane; and by three sisters, Effie Styles, Ollive Mckelvey and Laura Waller. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Shaw & Sons Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
