Mrs. Inez Daniels Austin, 79, died Sunday morning [Mar. 23, 1969] at 2:30 a.m. in Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. A native of Wanchese, she lived in Hatteras many years. She was a retired schoolteacher.

She was the widow of Andrew S. Austin, Sr. and a daughter of George C. and Mrs. Margaret Johnson Daniels.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hatteras, a life member of Order of Eastern Star, and member of Women's Society of Christian Service.

Surviving are a son, Andrew S. Austin, Jr. of Hatters; four daughters: Mrs. C.C. Newton of Greensboro, Mrs. C.D. Oden of Hatteras, Mrs. D.E. Skakle of Chapel Hill, and Mrs. V.A. Wilson of Greenville; three brothers: George C. Daniels of Norfolk, Cass Daniels of Kirkland, Washington, and Luther Daniels of Seattle, WA; three sisters: Mrs. Elrado Daniels, Mrs. Arthur Williams, and Mrs. Arletta Tillett of Wanchese; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was conducted Tuesday in First United Methodist Church by the Rev. Hobart Burnsides. Burial was in Oden Cemetery in Hatteras.
