Iva R. Alderson 1915 - 2005
YATES CENTER - Iva Ruth Alderson, 90, Yates Center, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, in Iola.
She was born June 13, 1915, in Reason, Okla., the daughter of Charley Orville and Inez Tatum Cox. She grew up in Wheeler, Texas.
She ran the West Side Cafe in Arnett, Okla., for many years, before moving to Wichita where she worked for Cessna. In 1955, she moved to Yates Center and sold Stanley Home products.
She was a member of the Christian Church of Yates Center.
In November 1929, she married Jake Hosier. He preceded her in death. In 1948, she married Alfred Buck Shahan. He preceded her in death. In 1955, she married Loyd Alderson. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Charles Shahan, Yates Center; two daughters, Wynola Evans and Pauline Grice, both of Amarillo, Texas; and four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
