Gene was the son of Clitherall Herman and Ama consuela (Beaver) Carter. He married (1) Bernice O. (Nelson) in 1948 and they had three children: Karen, Peter and Kimberly. He later married Mary Elizabeth (Platt) Bean in 1989.

Eugene Harley Carter
Eugene Harley CARTER Born March 21, 1924 to Clitherall Herman and Amma Carter in Oxford, AR. Passed away peacefully in Bellevue on October 8, 2005.
Gene attended Leavenworth High. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 1942, serving in the South Pacific. He married Bernice Nelson in 1948. They lived in West Seattle and settled in Bellevue in 1959. Gene retired from General Electric as an Engineering Manager in 1984.
Gene married Mary Platt Bean in 1989 after the passing of Bernice. He lived his faith and was very active in his church in many capacities. Gene was known as being a caring and helpful person. He also enjoyed golfing, and building and fixing things for others after retirement.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice. He is survived by his wife, Mary; his children Karen Kenney (Rick), Peter Carter, Kimberly Senter (Wayne), 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 3030 Bellevue Way NE, on Friday, October 14th at 2 p.m.
