WENATCHEE - Ama C. Orona, 99, a longtime Wenatchee resident, died Saturday, June 17, 1995, in Central Washington Hospital.

She was born March 3, 1896, to Thomas Edward and Mary Elizabeth (McCuiston) Beaver at Violet Hill, Ark., where she was raised and attended school.

She married C. Herman Carter on Jan. 4, 1920, at Oxford, Ark. They made their home and farmed at Violet Hill, Ark. They lived at Monitor from 1937 until moving to Plain in 1939, and then moved to Wenatchee in 1955.

Survivors include three sons, Hix Carter of East Wenatchee, Gene Carter of Bellevue and Thomas Carter of Wenatchee; two daughters, LaWanda Smith of Auburn and Willie Cooper of Wenatchee; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, two sons, a daughter, an infant brother and eight sisters.

Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
