|dusty_papers||Adams, William, Adaline and George|
I went out to the Oak Hill Cemetery today to find the stones for William # 79274080, Adaline # 79273202 and George # 79274281 Adams, but I could not find any. The cemetery records list I have shows them in Section 1, Lot 9. I did take a very wide shot of the hill where they should be in Section 1, Lot 9 if you'd like me to upload that. I also checked Sections 1 and 2 - (Lot 9 areas only) and didn't find any stones there either for Adams. If I go to the City Clerk's office, I'll put them on the list to ask about. Perhaps their graves were unmarked or the stones were damaged beyond repair at some point. Please let me know if you'd like the photo of the hillside on their memorials, or a photo of the cemetery sign I also took and I'll upload them.

Ann Maree - thanks for the information on the Cumiah - I use that name because that is the way she is referred to by the family. As I said, my niece did some research on her and yes, she did marry - William Green Wright (3/29/1875) and had one son, James Preston Wright (born 3/20/1877). Talitha Harriett Wright is not a name that has been mentioned in discussions about my husband's family. We did go to the cemetery over the week end and ran into a family had family buried there. She said that her brother knew a little about the cemetery. I gave her my phone # and asked that he call me. She did mention the large tree that was in the "center" and said that several of the Crowell's had been buried in the center where the tree went down. I found a recent burial (2011) - ran the obituary to find the funeral home and called them to get the name of their contact person for that cemetery. We are going to contact her to see if she has any old records. If we gain any more information, I will send you another text. Thanks, enjoyed our exchange!!!

I'm very happy you are pleased to find her parents on the same grave marker.
I have added a hyphen where it was needed, several of these memorials are related to me AND several were requests of other family members that wanted all their names listed because they have children with one or both of the names. Just thought I would let you know why I do what I do.

My niece was researching "Cumiah" to complete some family history for her mother's 80th birthday gift and found your post on the net. We live in So. Ill and would like to visit the grave site. Do you recall which portion of Hiller/Crab Orchard cemetery that she is buried in. The only information we have on "Cumiah" is verbal history passed down thru the family and we were very excited to find your post. Thanks.

Just so you are aware, it sits between two other unmarked graves. The stones and rows are numbered. It is rare to see a place marker for a grave in this section. Next time I am out there I can get a picture.
Hi Ann Maree, Did you read the inscription portion under the photo? It says the Lancasters' names are on the reverse side of the Curtis' Memorial. Were they related?
I'll be rotating the photo.

Hi Ann Maree,
FYI, I went to fill your requests in Beloit (2) and realized there were already existing photos attached. I deleted mine as to not duplicate others' efforts, but wanted to let you know they have stone photos attached already.
