Bio and Links
Bio Photo We completed a survey of all known cemeteries in McMinn County plus transcribed McMinn County death certificates from 1914-1955.
***************************
Surnames we are reseaching: Marvin's lineage = Templin, Click, Bryant, Sisk, Smith, Waddell, Gross. Samme's lineage = Carpenter, Simpson, Hutsell, Julian, Warren
***************************
Whenever we go out to fill a request, we try to take photos of a few of the surrounding burials. Never know when you might help someone find a lost relative. We also take tombstone pictures of any veterans we see, as we try to honor ALL VETERANS regardless of when they served.
***************************
A big "THANK YOU" to all the Find-A-Grave volunteers who have taken tombstone pictures for us.
***************************
We are always working on adding veterans to national cemeteries. Our way of honoring our veterans.

Transfer
Thank you so much for transferring Dr. Vert Mooney. I have added his bio if you would like to read about his many contributions to medicine. On behalf of the family, we greatly appreciate you building his memorial on Find A Grave.

Kindest regards,

Hello Marvin & Samme,

I added your memorial headstone photo to my family tree with Ancestry. Royal is my 2nd Cousin 2x removed. Full credit was given to you both along with your Findagrave.com member # 426307 and also stated photo was taken by Tom Brocher. If you object to the use of this photo, please let me know and I will remove from my family tree. Wishing to you and yours a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Thank you,

Glenn Massey

Is there any chance you could transfer his memorial to me? He was my grandfather.

George Richards King
I believe your entry for George Richards King is a duplicate for this one: 3724281

As far as I can tell, he did not serve in the Spanish-American War. At least I can find no documentation on Fold 3 for that & he was too old by that time to have served. He did, however, serve in the GAR in the Civil War, out of Wisconsin. He was captured in South Carolina and transferred to Libby Prison.

His parents were Hesden Pryor King and Minerva Richards. His first wife was Mariah Campbell, who died in 1916. I have found no divorce records on this marriage. I have found records indicating he married at least 2 more times (while still married to Mariah), and by his last marriage, had at least 2 children with Ella Kendall--George Richards King, Jr. and Minerva King.

He is my great-great grandfather through his son by Mariah, George Thomas King.

Thank You
Your transfer of Frank Joseph Magin, was very helpful to me and I hope for other people in our community. I am not trying to collect memorials, but your transfer, allowed me to directly check hints on him an his two wives. This lead me to connect to other members of my family (and to correct a few minor errors). I will visit his grave and take a photo of his and his family's headstones as soon as it stops snowing. Thank You again, I owe you.
