Jack Walton Shelton of Kinta died Sunday, 1 Nov. 1998 at his home on Tucker Knob Mountain. Services were held at the R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel. Burial followed at Sans Bois Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home, Stigler. Shelton, a native of Kinta, was born 13 Nov. 1922 to Raleigh Edmund and Bertha (Watkins) Shelton. He lived in the San Francisco area from 1954 to 1972, retiring as a welder. He proudly served as an amphibious tractor driver in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received a good conduct medal, a Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two bronze stars and a bronze arrowhead. He was honorably discharged 28 Dec. 1945 and was a member of Quinton VFW Post #1099 and the Quinton First Baptist Church.
