FARIBAULT--Ralph E. Hirdler, 70, of Faribault, died Tuesday, July 9, 1996 at the Transitional Hospital in Golden Valley following a brief illness. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, Faribault, with the Rev. David Kohner, pastor of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, officiating.

Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services Thursday at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home. Ralph Edward Hirdler, the son of Carl and Nellie (Ray) Hirdler, was born May 7, 1926, in Erin Township, Rice County. He married LaVonne Hingel on Dec. 29, 1959, at St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Cloud. She preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 1969.

Hirdler was a baker for many years at the Cox Bakerys in St. Cloud, Montevideo and Willmar. He retired in the early 1980s because of health reasons and lived in St. Cloud. In the early 1990s he moved to Faribault and lived at Golden Meadows. Most recently he was living at Caron's board and care. He was a member of the Faribault Aerie 1460, Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Hirdler is survived by two brothers, LeRoy (and Pearl) Hirdler of LaPorte, and Bernard (and Janette) Hirdler of Faribault; a sister Dorothy (and Walter) Foust of Faribault; three sisters-in-law, Bertha Hirdler of St. Cloud, MaryAnn Hirdler of Circle PInes and Donna (and Marvin) Theisen of St. Cloud; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Russel, Henry, Floyd and Arthur HIrdler; and a sister, Marjorie O'Conner.
